The album Bambala Bambala was born from the meeting between the Brazilian singer Mo Maie and the senegalese group Sobobade Band, formed by traditionalists and musicians from West Africa.

Innovative, diverse and futuristic, Bambala Bambala was created from experiences and sound dialogues, based on creative exchanges and experiments, fusing languages and traditional rhythms from West Africa with popular Brazilian music and World Music, between 2018 and 2021, in Senegal, Mali and Brazil.

Performer, multi-instrumentalist, writer, researcher, artisan of African musical instruments, the artist Mo Maie is the headmistress of Djalo Nomad Music. In her tour, she developed several works in alliance with artists, creative networks and communities in Brazil, Africa, Latin America, Middle East and Europe.
The album Bambala Bambala celebrates more than 30 years of her career as a composer, in a life dedicated to the arts, education and Afro-Brazilian and nomad popular culture.

Apart from “Ndawrabine”, a traditional theme from the Lebou, the disc themes are original and unpublished, signed by Mousseke Le Polivalent (Senegal) and Mo Maie (Brazil), woven from different themes and musical influences, having as a conducting wire the nature and transatlantic memories.
The themes are sung in Wolof, Brazilian and French, transmitting to the listeners the atmospheres of World Music, amidst landscapes and sound textures that connect Brazilian popular music, reggae, desert blues, afro jazz, reminding us that in the musical world there are no frontiers.
